About
Alirex: a software architect and backend / full-stack engineer with 10+ years in IT. I work mostly with Python and Rust, and I like small tools that take repeated work off my hands: dependency upgrades, project layout, linters and formatters. I have taught programming for 8 years, building courses and mentoring developers, and I am studying for a master's degree in Software Engineering and AI at Neoversity.
Selected work
- uv_upgrade (opens in a new tab) : Upgrades dependency versions in the pyproject.toml files of uv projects. On PyPI as uv-upx.
- path_as_uri (opens in a new tab) : A Rust crate that turns a file path into a URI you can click in the terminal.
- app_root_folder (opens in a new tab) : A Rust crate that finds the app's root folder, like BASE_DIR in Python projects.
- rust_crate_to_workspace (opens in a new tab) : A Bash script that turns a single Rust crate into a Cargo workspace.
- ollama_docker_public (opens in a new tab) : Ollama in Docker with GPU support, for running LLMs on your own server.
- pre-commit-just (opens in a new tab) : A pre-commit hook that formats justfiles with just --fmt (my fork, with my own changes).
- notes (opens in a new tab) : My notes on dependencies, IDE settings in a repo, linters and pre-commit (in Ukrainian and English).
